Why is pancreatic cancer so hard to crack? Many reasons. Firstly, 65% of pancreatic cancers aren’t caught until they have already spread, which makes those patients ineligible for surgery and leaves them with few effective treatment options. Despite researchers’ best efforts to come up with better treatments, the 5-year survival rate for pancreatic cancer patients is still only 8%.
